Larry Doubles Down on Borscht Redux

This episode contains more borscht references than you can shake a soup spoon at. Hear beefy hunk Larry Miller explain the subtle comedic difference between “Ah” and “A-ha.”

We get a fistful of updates, including the most acrimonious hamper update to date. Then Larry tells a story about battling with other comics with food in a diner back in the day. This episode is over. Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!

Quote of the week: “I am ‘In-The-Groove Jackson’ now.”

Larry as a “baby comic”

Larry, glad to hear you are indeed healthy. Now gird your loins, eat your borscht, shave poorly, and hurry back! Bring the funny! We miss you, bud!

not to mention, at 10:53 in the video, we get to see the gracious larry we all know and love, with his sincere thanks to the audience. kudos to his parents, they raised a very good man.

Great pod and great video. Glad to hear he’s really ok. Like to hear more, but a man deserves his privacy. Miss his stuff though. Watching the baby comic vid reminded me of the Northridge Quake. That there was a serious trauma for me and my family. No joke. Get better soon, Larry. You are missed.

Glad to know Larry is doing better, but please don’t sound irritated and tell us he is “fine – trust me, he’s fine”. If he were “fine”, he would not have been gone for eight weeks and counting. Gone, gone for eight weeks and counting. No twitter updates. No clog updates. No podcast updates. If he were “fine” he would be back here and complaining about the lack of good bar service at the hospital (where you need to self medicate more than anywhere else in the world). We ask because we care. Here’s hoping he is better than fine soon.

  • LarryE

Yeah. This is getting alarming. And mysterious. I guess we can only hope it’s not as serious (and mysterious) as it seems.

  • Mark Howard

I think we are all starting to wonder what is really going on? 8 weeks is a long time? I can’t speak for every one, but I do truely hope he is going to be ok. Take care Larry you are missed by many. MEH

good job larry miller, your girlfriend patty was bangin sir. no disrespect. she was a very pretty lady. the video was great, funny stuff.

I’m officially discouraged. 8 weeks. going on 9 weeks. And I don’t think we are getting the straight scoop. I hope you fully recover Larry. I hope you get your grove back. I also hope you get your fans back. Nothing lasts forever.

  • Raye

George Mac – Larry’s fans will always be here, but in show business, nobody who is “fine” disappears for 9 weeks from a growing, weekly program. And when the show’s producer is telling us he doesn’t know when Larry will be back – – yeah, we can all read between the lines. I doubt their biggest concern right now is the ratings and the fan base. Frequent and sincere prayers for a fast and full recovery.

Larry so far has recieved little or no money from doing the weekly podcast. So it is hardly a priority for him to get back to it.

  • Stacey E

Holy yikes it’s weird seeing Larry with all of that hair. Cello player, I never would have guessed.

  • Stephen P

Wow, that old clip was great, I can’t believe that Ray Romano had the exact joke about mom’s forcing leftovers on you, almost beat for beat. I’m not alleging anything, it’s a common enough premise.

Get well Larry, I’m feeling lost without a Hamper/Trifecta/Razor update.
