Howdy Larry and pals. Just thought I’d share some things about my home in the deep south. And I really mean deepest, below Miami, above the Keys. Here in Dixie, when it gets as hot that if you and your best friend only had one orange between you, you’d cut it exactly in half because that person is your BEST friend an interesting occurrence takes place. Just when it feels like it cannot get any hotter. Down here we have an abundance of swamps and marshes, lakes, bodies of water.. And wouldn’t you know it.. The water evaporates and we have huge rainstorms. It’s the best. One of the reasons we say”God Bless Dixie”. A very famous photographer, from California, who does black and white nature photography with civil war era cameras and silver screen home developing, commented on the phenomenon and spoke about watching a raincloud develop, get huge and heavy, blacken, then burst and drench the visible face of the earth, all over about 4 hours. Most folks don’t take the time to observe this, but those who do are true Floridians. The photographer is named Clyde Butcher and I think you will enjoy his stories on YouTube. Thanks for the great podcast.
