Musical question:
If God is all powerful , can He make a rock so big he can’t lift it?

While I enjoyed Roy Rogers (and Dale and Pat and Nellybelle) and Gene Autry, I was a total Hoppy-head as a kid in the ’50s. I grew up in NYC and got a complete Hopalong outfit for my 7th birthday in 1954. This included black Hoppy pants, a black Hoppy hat, black Hoppy Pullover shirt, bandanna and best of all, the pewter bandanna clasp in the shape of a Texas longhorn steer, complete with two jugular piercing horns that were as safe as a bag of broken glass…but hey, back in those days, we played on asphalt-surfaced playgrounds, swinging from iron monkeybars. I loved everything about Hoppy…his voice, what he stood for and my father took me to Madison Square Garden to see the rodeo, with Grand Marshall Bill Boyd! I wore my Hoppy outfit, as did about 10,000 other kids. If any of us had gotten lost, it would have been like looking for a penguin in the flock.

I ruined my Hopalong Cassidy lunchbox years ago but I still have my Hopalong Cassidy thermos sitting on my office desk.

I had a Dale Evans trike. Brother Jonny had the Roy Rogers model. Sweet childhoods in VS. Thanks for the memories.
