Long Lost Coffee Commercials
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Have coffee TV commercials gone extinct? Shocking! Positively shocking. And what ever happened to the percolator? Larry ruminates about this and also why Oddjob had to schlep Goldfinger’s golf clubs around in the hot southern sun, in a tuxedo, no less! It was an odd job for Oddjob.

Larry, you talked about Teddy Roosevelt for a while. I want to let you know about something. This year is the 100th anniversary of the formation of the National Parks system, under the guidance of President Teddy Roosevelt. This year there has been a campaign designed to increase awareness of the National Parks. This campaign was launched by my fellow ham radio operators. Each of the guys (or gals) that participate, will decide on a National Park site to “activate”. they will set up a ham radio at that site and contact other operators that are listening for them on the ham radio bands. It’s been a lot of fun for us.
There are many celebrities that are ham radio operators, including TV personalities, musicians, politicians, and actors. Marlon Brando, Donny Osmond, Water Cronkite, Jean Shepard, and many more. And of course, the movie “Frequency” featured ham radio.
By the way, I love your podcast. I listen every week. I’ve shared many “Jokes of the week” with my friends.
Take care, and have a drink for me.
